Desk Pad / Mat
I believe that a desk mat is part of the foundation of your gaming setup, almost as important as the desk and chair. It sets the mood of your space because of its size and where it lays: at the center of the desk. I recommend selecting a desk mat over a mouse pad because it breaks up the surface space of the desk and frames together the keyboard and mouse. There are two routes you can take; selecting a colorful scene or design, or selecting a a single color mat. From there, you begin to build around this, though swapping out desk mats can help when you want a fresh new scene. I recommend checking out Geekshare and Inked Gaming for desk mats.
Mechanical Keyboard

First, research the brand, noise level, and size of the keyboard that will work best for your gaming and typing. Then look at color tones and mechanical keys that you can swap out to add more dimension. Finally, look into keyboard that have an LED element to the base. This will compliment other lighting elements to your setup.
Gaming Mouse
Bias to popular belief, the gaming mouse can be selected without the influence of the keyboard. These two do not need to match, but they should both support the theme of the space. This is also something you want to do your research on before investing in a mouse. I have found a lot of female gamers to prefer the Razer Mercury White Gaming Mouse, but check out other options as well.
Speakers
Whether your monitor has speakers or not, the quality of the sound will be stronger through a set of plug-in computer speakers. Additionally, computer speakers now have LED light features that serve to enhance your gaming experience. Though you will likely have gaming headphones, you wont always want to use them. Speakers will also come in handy when you’re doing other work and want to just listen to music or a podcast. Check out the G2000 32W PC Computer Speakers in white and pink.
Monitor Stand / Mount

A monitor stand will add some dimension, layers and height to your desk, as well as some extra storage room to store an extra keyboard or notebook beneath. It can be a long stand at 42″ or short at 23″. If you prefer extra space on your desk, I recommend a Monitor Mount (i.e. Monitor Arm). You attach a clamp to the back of your desk and the monitor mounts to the arm. There are dual arm mounts for setups with dual monitors. Check to make sure the arms can support the computer size and check to see if the computer can be mounted ( there will be 4 screw holes at the back). I recommend VIVO Dual Monitor Arm Mount for 17 to 32 inch Screens.
LED Lights

LED light strips offer several benefits when incorporated into a gaming setup. Firstly, they provide customizable ambient lighting, allowing gamers to create immersive and dynamic atmospheres that enhance the gaming experience. These strips often come with a wide range of color options and lighting effects, enabling users to match the lighting to the mood of the game or their personal preferences. Additionally, LED light strips can reduce eye strain during extended gaming sessions by providing soft, indirect lighting that complements the monitor’s brightness without causing glare. Furthermore, the aesthetic appeal of well-placed LED lighting can add a visually striking element to the gaming space, contributing to an overall stylish and futuristic feel.
Headphone / Controller Stand
The best gaming setups keep their equipment organized. A stand for your headset and/or gaming controllers is essential for a clean and organized look. Etsy sellers have custom wooden stands and Amazon sells stands with LED light features and charging outlets. You see a stand on every posted gaming setup.
Artificial Plants
Artificial plants allow gamers to become fully immersed in their environment. Most game setting take place outside and by placing them around your station, you bring the layout of the game to your desk. Also, plants are encouraged for any interior decorative space. I recommend artificial plants since there is a lot of technology and outlets surrounding the plant, and to avoid any watering or falling leaves/petals. I find a lot of gamers use hanging vines and succulents. Look into fun planters to compliment your setup color scheme.
Peg Boards or Wall Grid Panels

There are a number of benefits to having a peg board above your gaming setup. First, it allows you to add some personal touches by hanging art prints or artificial plants. Also, it makes a blank wall more visually appealing and gives texture and color to the wall. Finally, it can allow for storage by placing controllers, pen holders, and small shelves on the wall, opening room up on your desk. I find the Keepo Pegboard Combination Kit to be the most popular.
Floating Shelves
Floating shelves maximize space efficiency and enhance organization. These shelves, mounted on the wall without visible brackets, provide a sleek and modern appearance, contributing to a clean and organized gaming environment. One of the key advantages is their ability to efficiently store gaming consoles, controllers, and other accessories, freeing up valuable desk space and reducing clutter. This organized layout not only improves the aesthetic appeal of the gaming area but also facilitates easy access to equipment during intense gaming sessions. Additionally, floating shelves can be strategically placed at eye level, ensuring that gaming peripherals are within reach and creating an ergonomic setup that minimizes distractions and enhances focus.
Controller / Docking Covers
Controllers and docking charging stations can be generic and visually unappealing. I can really impose an eye sore on your cute gaming setup since you will likely be storing it insight on your desk or shelf. Adding a cover to these items will really impact your gaming environment and compliment the color scheme you decided on. Have a look at GeekShare.

Yes, candles! I love these little fun items on gamers’ desks. I don’t see them often, but when I do, I think it makes the space a bit more cozy. They can be kept on a shelf or directly on your desk. Check out Bubble Candles on Amazon.
